about  me!

My name is Saffron (she/her) from the School of Design. I am currently in the second year of my course, Interior Architecture and Design. I chose the topic 'The Metal Subculture' as I personally really enjoy some sub-genres of metal music. I also enjoy the different fashion styles surrounding the metal subculture. I am most interested in the music and gothic fashion, which is often related to the metal culture. Some of my favourite genres of metal music are metalcore, mathcore, electronicore and kawaii metal. Some of my favourite bands are Motionless In White, Spiritbox, Electric Callboy and BABYMETAL!

What I hope to learn!

During my research, I hope to cultivate a more in-depth understanding of the different genres of music and a deeper understanding of the different kinds of fashion surrounding the metal subculture. I also hope to find out how the music and fashion are related to each other. 

 

In addition, I would also like to find out about others' opinions on the metal subculture and the common misconceptions people may have about the culture.

 

Through this project, I hope to develop a deeper understanding of the metal subculture, and maybe even have the opportunity to add some elements into my daily style and music taste!
